| Comparing the observation grading for members of staff in groups and comparing the grading of these groups is an important aspect of Observe. There are illustration report documents to review this feature.
A report in MS Excel can be produced to compare the grading performance of members of the group and provide the average grade, the number and percentage for grades, for a group of staff selected. This is a powerful management report. View the illustration comparison reports by going to 'Help>Report Documents', highlight Illustration Group Report comparing grades.doc and clicking 'Open'. Note that the number and % of grades for previous events can be viewed by clicking the tabs at the bottom of the MS Excel screen. The grade comparison report is compiled on a historical basis. There is also a statistics only report that excludes the detail for observees. The statistics report is compiled by academic year Comparison Reports are compiled by clicking Compare>Reports to compare observation grades on the main menu bar to access a selection menu. A wide range of comparison files can be compiled for comparing staff, e.g. by department, by position, by observer, by type of learner, by teaching level etc. These options reflect the choices in the drop-down boxes on the Event screen. The observation grade statistics by academic year reports can be compiled with a range of detail, for example reports for all observations or observations restricted to a department, or learner level, can show the grade results by observation indicator, by department, by observer etc. To select the type of detail click the drop down against Detail on the selection screen. The reports are compiled in MS Excel and the grades recorded for previous events can be viewed by clicking the tabs at the bottom of the MS Excel screen. |
| The comparison feature is also able to compile reports to show the attendance level (listed either by the best or worst %) for any group of staff against selected event characteristics. Attendance reports are compiled by clicking Compare>Attendance and selecting the period required. The staff group should then be selected using the drop down boxes with the event characteristics not required being deselected, e.g. observer and paired. The report is compiled in MS Excel. |
| The comparison feature is also able to compile reports to show all the issues recorded for a selected group of staff , e.g. issues arising to improve
Group issue reports are compiled by clicking Compare>Comparison of issues arising for staff group. The report is compiled in MS Excel and the issues arising for the group on previous events can be viewed by clicking the tabs at the bottom of the MS Excel screen. |
| The comparison feature is also able to compile reports to show all the training needs recorded for a selected group of staff .
Group training needs reports are compiled by clicking Compare>Training needs staff group and selecting the period required. This report will show the training modules that are most frequently identified as necessary for the staff selected. The report is compiled in MS Excel and the issues arising for the group on previous events can be viewed by clicking the tabs at the bottom of the MS Excel screen. |
